WHEREAS, The Commis er of Public Works has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City ¶harter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from March 1 to 7, 1956, which rendered necessary
the employement of certain employees of the Department of Public
Works for more eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing
the following work:
Sanding icy streets
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Necessity of keeping city] streets free
from snow and ice
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance
No. 6446.
