WHEREAS, The MN Office of Justice Programs, Crime Victims Services Unit provides training to
Criminal Justice Professional on issues including victims rights, cultural competency;
4 WHEREAS, The MN Office of Justice Programs sponsors an annual conference on Crime Victims for
5 approximately 500 multi-disciplinary attendees;

7 WHEREAS, the Conference will be held May 26 — May 28, 2010 at Cragun's Conference Center in
8 Brainerd, Minnesota;
10 WHEREAS, Deputy City Attorney Therese Skarda and Supervising City Attorney Mike Seasly and Senior
11 Prosecutor Tara Patet applied for and were awarded full scholarships which include the cost of conference
12 attendance, lodging and meals to this years Conference on Crime & Victimization: Making Connections;
13 now therefore be it

15 RESOLVED, that the City of St. Paul along with the St. Paul City Attomey's Office gratefully accept these
16 scholarships on behalf of the recipients.
