WHEREAS,. the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from February 16th to February 29th 1956 inc.,
which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the
Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per week in doing the following work:
Supervising repairs to water main on Montreal east of Cleveland, and
Supervising laying of new water main on Albemarle St. at Arlington.
AID WBIRIAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Necessary to work after regular hours and on Saturdays in order
to speed completion.
TAE, BE IT ;4 0LVED, that the proper city officers are hereby
aurthorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446.
