In the Matter of opening and widening Winthrop Street to a width of 50 ft. from
Allston Street to Lenox Avenue by taking and condemning the east 25 ft. of Block 9,
Burlington Heights Division No. 1 and the west 25 ft. of the Southeast 1/4 of the
Northeast 1/4 of Section 14, Township 28, Range 22, lying between the intersection
of the west line of the Southeast 1/4 of the Northeast i/4 and the southerly line
of Lenox Avenue produced southeasterly and the west line of the Southeast 1/4 of
the Northeast 1/4 and the northerly line of Allston Street produced southeasterly, .
under Preliminary Order 174211 Approved July 19, 1955
The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is open and widen
Winthrop Street to a width of 50 ft. from Allston Street to Lenox Avenue by taking
and condemning the east 25 ft. of Block 9, Burlington Heights Division No. 1 and
the west 25 ft. of the Southeast 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 14, Township 28,
Range 22, lying between the intersection of the west line of the Southeast 1/4 of
the Northeast 1/4 and the southerly line of Lenox Avenue produced southeasterly and
the vest line of the Southeast 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 and the northerly line of
Allston Street produced southeasterly,
with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $ 199•00
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 20th day of
lfarch , 19 5, at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement 1 the total cost thereof as estimated.
