WHEREAS the City of Saint Paul has been nationally acclaimed
for its progress and the citizen effort which in-
spired that progress, and
WHEREAS the publishers of the St. Paul Dispatch-Pioneer Press
have forcibly documented the progress of Saint Paul - -
the All-America City - - through publication of a
special Section devoted to a Progress Report, and
WHEREAS the Progress Report was written, edited"and planned in
such a manner as to give citizens of the city a con-
plete and unbiased recording of recent advances in
Saint Paul,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and City
Council of the City of Saint Paul, do hereby commend
publishers of the St. Paul Dispatch-Pioneer Press; Mr.
Fred Neumeier, who directed publication of the progress
report; Mr. Carl Langland, who prepared much of the
information contained; and the entire staff of the
newspaper who contributed articles for publication.
