OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK . c-----<-- _ \- --€q CIL RESOLUTION-GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONS / DAT F / (94. --"r 7 WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from January 1st to January 15th 1956 inc., which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: 1 Repairing Filtration Plant equipment. 2 Cleaning slag from #2 boiler tubes. 3 Repairing water mains and service connections, various locations. 4 Keeping ice away from intake at Mississippi River Station 5 Taking emergency calls at Storeyard. 6 Taking country crew to and from work. 7 Ditching water from leaks on Mississippi River conduit. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: 1 & (2) Necessary to make repairs during low consumption hours. 3 In order to keep continuous water service. 4 Necessary to continue work so that ice would not accumulate. 5 Nights and Sundays. 6 On account of scattered work locations. 7 In order to be able to move to another location next day. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the ejployees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
