RESOLUTION ACCEPTING Fi7NDS FROM THE BROOKINGS INSTITUTION FOR PED STAFF
TO ATTEND A REGIONAL MEETING ON MAY 13TH IN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, Ann Mulholland, Deputy City Mayor, has been invited by the Brookings Institution, in paRnership
with the Itasca Project, Urban Land Institute, Regional Conference of Mayors, Department of Employment and
Economic Development and Target; and
WHEREAS, Ann Mulholland cannot attend, and has designated the Department of Planning and Economic
Deve(opment (PED) m send a representative in her place, and PED has designated Ellen Muller, Business Manager
of the Saint Paul Department of Planning and Economic Development, to serve as the Saint Paul representative; and
WHEREAS, the meeting will be held on May 13, 2010 at the McArthur Institute in Chicago, Illinois for the purpose
of convening Minneapolis-Saint Paul representatives working the regiona] business plan, Seattle-Puget Sound
Regional Council, and ClevelandiNortheast Ohio Partnership to share progress and ideas on the Brookings
Metropolitan Business Plan Initiative; and
WHEREAS, the Brookings Institution will pay for all costs associated with attendance and participation in the
meeting by Ms. Muller, with an estimated value not to exceed $ I,000.00;
NOR' THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that upon the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of
Saint Paul does hereby approve the acceptance of the payment of all costs associated with the participation of Ellen
Muller to attend the regional meeting; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized to take the appropriate actions
necessary to facilitate the participation in the conference.
