WHEREAS, Daniel J. Vannelli, a police officer of
the City of Saint Paul, was injured in a third party
accident with one Robert Hackman on the 31st day of May
1954, while in the course of his employment, and as a
result the City has expended the sum of $1,42.85 as salary
for loss of time by said employe, and the sum of $58.00
for medical expense, and
WHEREAS, said employe has made a settlement
through his attorney, in the amount of $1800.00, and
a compromise offer of settlement of the City's claim for
reimbursement on behalf of said employe in the amount
of $300,00, has been made, from which no attorney's fees
are to be paid by the City for recovery, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officers are hereby
authorized to accept the sum of $300.00 in settlement of
the City's claim for reimbursement of said expenditures
on behalf of said employe, said sum to be credited $58.00
to the Workmen's Compensation Account, and the balance,
$242.00 to Police Salary Fund.
