WHEREA , Very Reverend Vincent J. Flynn, then a Roman Catholic Priest, President of both College of St. Thomas and St. Thomas Military _academy, long and well established meritorious educational institutions in the City of Saint Paul, then holding College of St. Thomas Be A. Degree, University of Minnesota M. A. Degree in English, and University of Chicago Ph. D. Degree, and then, and for many years next prior thereto, the possessor of a merited and nation-wide reputation for exceptionally high learning and professional aptitude in religious, educational, social and civic fields of endeavor, on the 6th day of July A. D. 1956, in his 55th year, was summoned from this life, by Almighty God, after his prominent, extensive and consistently meritorious and effective career in Religious, Educational, Social and Civic Affairs, as Priest, Educator, President of American Association of Colleges, Trustee of J. J. Hill Reference Library, member of Executive Board of National Conference of Christians and Jews, member of Citizens Committee for the Hoover Report, member of the Governorts Commission on Vocational and Higher Education, member of Board of Governors of the Menninger Foundation, and Officer of Twin City Area Educational Television Committee, wherein his efforts were ever unselfishly and effectively/directed and exerted for the promotion of religion, , education, security of our constitutional form of Government, justice and the comfy% good, and WHEREAS, his demise has caused incalculable and irreparable loss to the City of Saint Peul, its inhabitants, the State and Nation, and a great sense of grief to surviving members of his family, be it hereby RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul, in its own behalf and in behalf of the inhabitants of the City. of Saint Paul, hereby takes and records cognizance of the aforesaid prominent, extensive and consistently meritorious career of said Very Reverend Vincent J.
