WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums has reported in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from June 3rd through 30th, 1956 which rendered necessary the
employment of certai employees of the Department of Libraries, Auditorium and
Museums, Bureau of A ditorium, for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per week in doing th following work:
Operate switchb ard, ventilating system and electric work, also to
supervise duri the many activities held in the building.
and WHEREAS, This rgency arose by reason of the following facts and circum-
stances:
No other trains help available to work during high school commencements, ,
Louis Armstrong oncert, Dog Show, Townsend Convention, boxing matches and
Lutheran Conven on held in the building. This time includes Saturdays
and Sundays.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City Officers are hereby authorized to
pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of
the Council's Salary prdinance, Ordinance No. 6146.
