An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3524, approved July 26, 1915,
as amended, entitled:
"An ordinance regulating and licensing restaurants and
victualing houses. This is an emergency ordinance
rendered necessary for the preservation of the public
peace, health and safety."

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 3524, approved July 26, 1915, as amended,
be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out Section 5 of said
ordinance, as amended, and by inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"Section 5. The annual license fee for conducting a
restaurant or victualing house under a license issued pursuant
to this ordinance shall be:
"a) When the area occupied for the operation of said
restaurant is not more than 1000 square feet, the sum of
$30.00 per year.
"b) When the area occupied for the operation of said
restaurant is from 1001 to 5000 square feet, the sum of $40.00
per year. ,
"c) When the area occupied for the operation of said
restaurant is more than 5000 square feet, the sum of $50.00
per year."
Section 2. That said Ordinance No. 3524 be and the same is hereby
further amended by renumbering "Section 6" to read"Section 7" and by
renumbering succeeding sections correspondingly; and, further, by inserting
. a new Section 6, as follows:
"Section 6. The area to be used in the computation of the
square footage referred to in Section 5 shall be the area used for
the preparation, service and consumption of food, including those
areas designed for customer facilities within the premises."
Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance
rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after July 25, 1956.

Gentlemen:
We are in receipt of a request from Tars. M. M. Sarnecki,
1340 East Como Boulevard, for permission to erect a 121
fence around a tennis court on the back part of the property
facing 1340 E. Como Boulevard.
This office has made an investigation into this matter
and sees no objection to granting the permission for this
fence.
It is therefore recommended that permission be granted
for the erection of this fence in accordance with the request
submitted.
