THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL INTER-OFFICE COMMUNICATION June 27, 1956 Mr. Robert F. Peterson Commissioner of Public Safety Dear Commissioners After the first year's operation under the uniform allowance ordinance, the following changes have been recommended by Assistant Chief Schmidt and our Police Union. I am in accord with these recommendations. 1. That the contract be awarded for two (2) years instead of one ( 1) year. 2. That the following items be included in the equipment that may be purchased: black neckties cartridge holder ✓' leather jacket 3. That the successful bidder be required to employ a tailor, or a contract with a tailor, so that proper fit can be secured on uniform equipment. I am just advised that the present contract is about to expire, and the matter should have been brought to your attention before this late date.
