In the Matter of improving Maryland Avenue from Clarence Street to White Bear Avenue
by removing the existing asphalt surfacing and crushed stone base on the center strip
between Clarence Street and Kennard Street; by grading and paving said center strip with
7" concrete base and 32" asphaltic concrete; by surfacing the existing concrete pavement
from Clarence Street to White Bear Avenue with asphaltic concrete; by paving alley and
driveway returns where necessary; by constructing new curb where necessary; and by doing
all other work which is necessary and incidental to said improvement,
under Preliminary Order 1783 approved June 121 1956
Intermediary Order approved
A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons,objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be made by the said City is. improve Maryland Avenue from Clarence Street to
White Bear Avenue by removing the existing asphaltic surfacing and crushed stone base on
the center strip between Clarence Street and Kennard. Street; by grading and paving said
center strip with 7 " concrete base and 32" asphaltic concrete; by surfacing the existing
concrete pavement from Clarence Street to White Bear Avenue with asphaltic concrete; by
paving alley and driveway returns where necessary; by constructing new curb where neces-
sary; and by doing all other work which is necessary and incidental to said improvement,
and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.
