RESOLVED, That the Council hereby approves the award of the Contract Committee
therefor, and hereby awards contract for furnishing all labor, materials and
services necessary for and reasonably incidental to the furnishing and erection
of ball backstops located at various playground locations, St. Paul, Minnesota*:
to UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORATION, AMERICAN STEEL & WIRE DIVISION, CYCLONE
FENCE DEPARTMENT in accordance with City plans and specifications therefor
hereto attached and the Formal Bid #5834 of said United States Steel Corporation,
American Steel & Wire Division, Cyclone Fence Department for the contract price
of $53,000.00, such bid being the lowest and said United States Steell Corporation,
American Steel & Wire Division, Cyclone Fence Department being the lowest
reasonable and reliable bidder and the Corporation Counsel be and hereby is
directed to draw up the proper form of contract therefor, and the proper City
officials hereby are authorised to execute said contract on behalf of the City of
St. Paul.
