WHEREAS, Alfred H. Schroeder, City Architect, has
requested the City Council to hold a public hearing to
consider any compldnts about the expense incurred by
the City of Saint Paul in removing dangerous structure
at 1139 Juno Avenue, more particularly described as
Lot 15, Howard Greene Addition, and
WHEREAS., it appears that the last known record owner
of the property is Herman Schober, c/o Rochester State ;
Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota and Emma Leona Schober,
c/o 440 Iglehart Avenue, St. Paul 3, Minnesota, therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint
Paul hold a public hearing in the Council Chamber at ten
o'clock A. M.' on the 8th day of August, 1956,
_ to consider any complaints about the expense incurred by
the City of Saint Paul and to confirm the amount thereof;
be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify by
mail the record owner of the property in question at the
last known address.

Gentlemen:
A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on
this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the property
known as 1139 Juno Avenue, described as Lot 15, Howard Greene
Addition, St. Paul, Minnesota. Herman Schober, c/o Roches-
ter State Hospital, and Emma Leona Schober, c/o 440 Iglehart
Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota, are listed as owners.
In this matter the following resolutions were adopted by the
City Council:
/ C.F. 176379, adopted January 12, 1956 (published January 24,
1956) sets a public hearing at ten o'clock A.M. on February 3,
/ 1956.
i C.F. 176691, adopted February 7, 1956 (published February 11,
1956) ordered the wrecking of the frame dwelling, pump house,
I tool shed, outside toilet and chicken coop by and at the sepa-
l{ rate cost and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person
in control thereof.
C.F. 176938, adopted February 29, 1956 (published March 3,
1956) directed the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds And Pub-
lic Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the
buildings thereon and do all things therein necessary for the
protection of life, limb and adjoining property.
C.F. 177289, adopted March 29, 1956 (published March 31, 1966)
approved the specifications prepared by the City Architect for
the wrecking and authorized the Purchasing Agent to advertise
for bids.
C.F. 177603, adopted April 25, 1956 (published April 28, 1956)
approved the award of the wrecking contract to Truck Crane
Service Co. for the sum of $290.00 in accordance with specifi-
cations and Formal Bid No. 5708.

C.F. 178228, adopted June 8, 1956 (published June 16,
1956) provided that the wrecking expense of $290.001 and
the departmental expenses of $43.81, making a total, of
$333.81, be paid out of General Fund Item 31 G 23, and., .
in the event this sum proves collectible from the owner,
same is to be credited to 31 G 23.
These buildings have been wrecked as of June 1, 1956 and
Reg. Bill 4-1473 was mailed to the owners, Herman & Emma
Leona Schober, cjo 440 Iglehart Avenue, St. Paul. The
bill has not been paid.
We, therefore, request the Council set a public hearing
with ten days notice to consider any complaints about the
expenses incurred by the City and to confirm the aMount.
The Council resolution confirming the expense shoal end
with a directive to the City Clerk to file a state nt of
expense for the purpose of securing a lien on the p *perty.
