WHEREAS, In t a matter of Comptroller's Contract L. .785,
Guard Rails, Wabasha Street Bridge, St. Paul Foundry! and
Manufacturing Co., contractors, the specified date of co -
pletion in January 1, 1957, and
WHEREAS, the contractor has prosecuted the workldil .gently
but due to delay in the delivery of material caused l¢y c'n-
ditions beyond the control of the Contractor, it was not
possible to complete the contract until March 1, 195 ,
therefore,be it
RESOLVED, That the proper City officials be and they are
hereby authorized and directed to execute an amendme t tO said
contract extending the time of completion to March 1 1957,
provided however that this resolution shall have no orce or
effect unless the sureties on the contractor's bond onsent thereto
and file such consent in writing with the City Compt oller,
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City of St. Paul hereby waives
all claim for liquidated damages and that no engineering and
inspection costs oh this project will be charged by the City
on account of such extended period.

WHEREAS, In the matter of Comptroller's Contract L.5785,
Guard rails, Wabasa Street Bridge, St. Paul Foundry and
Manufacturing Co. , contractors, the specified `date of com-
pletion in January 1, 1957, and
WHEREAS, the contractor has prosecuted the work diligently
but due to delay in the delivery of material caused by con-
ditions beyond the control of the Contractor, it was not
possible to complete the contract until March 1, 1957,
therefore,be it
RESOLVED, That the proper City officials be and they are
