WHERFAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, iii—tefira Airaee
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period free t 16th to lugrst 31st 1956 inc., which
renderid necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water
deparhaent for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per
week in doing the following work:
1 Repairing Filtration Plant egtiprent
2 Working extra shifts at Centerville Pumping Station.
3 berating new Sazel Park & St.tatheny Park Piping Stations.
4 Finishing installation of, and repairing water mains and
service connections.
(5) Taking emergency calls at Storeyart.
(6 Taking country anew to and from work.
AID WaAS, this emergency arose by reason of the fallout* facts and
circumstances:
1 Necessary to to work during low consumptiin hours.
R In order to keep up lake levels.
3 Nee ssary to have experienced men attend new stations in order
to be sure that new etiwipment is operating properly.
4 In order to keep continuous water service.
5 lights ant Sundays.
6 OA account of scattered work locations.
THIMITORI, NZ IT RISOLY1 D, that the proper City officers are hereby authorised
to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the
provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance Nei 6446.
