WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordion e
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from August 1st to August 15th 1956 inc., which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Wa
Departaent for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per
week in doing the following work:
Operating new billing machines in preparation of water bills.
AID WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Necessary to bring billing up to date. Work became behind schedul
during change over to post card billing,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized
to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the
provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6 +
