WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the
City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from
October 16th, 1956 to November 15th, 1956 inclusive which rendered
necessary the employment of certain employes of the City Clerk's Office,
Bureau of Records, for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per week in doing the following work:
Typing licenses, mailing licenses, indexing chattel mortgages,
contracts, etc., checking license receipt records, writing letters
in connection with Council meetings,
and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
Illness of employes and vacation period,
RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the
employes who performed such work in accordance with the provisions
of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
