October 31, 1956 Mr. Joseph Okoneski City Clerk Building Dear Sir: This is in the matter of the application of the Holman M. E. church for a permit to establish a private parking lot on the property ad- jacent to the southwest corner of Bates and Euclid. This property is described as lots 20, 21, 22 - block 55 - Lyman Dayton's Addition. The zoning is "B" residence. This property has a frontage of 120' on Bates: 120' on Euclid. The applicants propose to use it for private parking for church patrons. Adjacent land uses are as follows: the applicant's church is across Euclid to the north: there are single-family residences to the east ' and south. There are apartment buildings across Bates to the east. The Zoning Board finds no objection to this proposal from the stand- point of adjacent land use and traffic provided that the applicant's plans approved September 15, 1956 are strictly complied with and that a reasonable attempt is made to beautify the premises by the provision of landscaping so as to minimize the effect on the adjacent residence to the Oast. The Zoning Board also takes note of the drainage problem which if not properly handled could have a detrimental effect on ad- jacent property and the use of the public sidewalk. Therefore, the Zoning Board recommends this permit be granted in accordance with the applicant's plans approved September 15, 1956 and subject to the detailed review of the office of the City Architect concerning the treatment of the slopes, the landscaping and provision for storm-water drainage. • c" ` y' CDL:FS .
