OFFICE OF THE ig , be / •UNCIL SO U ON»with'iuot me tr�`"'lZimnue ' .n'3 �, PRESENTED 8Y �/ this work to be r t";.'the COMMISSIONS• /-'' A IlL✓a .� _ +ti? •v.„--....... ,.. ... the ' Al 1956 WHEREAS, In order to facilitate traffic to and from the new Municipal Stadium to be placed in operation in April, 1957, it is essential to proceed without delay with the rough grading of the Lexington Avenue highway connection designated as "DeCourey Drive," this work to be done preliminary to the final surfacing and pavement; therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and he is herein authorized to proceed with the rough grading of DeCourcy Drive between the stadium area and Lexington Avenue, including necessary drainage, crushed rock base for paving, and incidental facilities, using city forces and city-owned and rented equipment as required, said work to be done on right-of-way now in process of condemnation under permit from the present owners to enter upon said property and to do the necessary grading, it not being practicable under the cir- cumstances to secure formal bids within the limited time available for construction work during the present construction season; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Purchasing Agent be authorised and instructed to purchase such materials as are necessary and to arrange for insurance as required by the present property wners for protection during construction operations.
