Dear Sir: Contract Number G-143 was awarded to the Thornton Brothers Company for Site Preparation for the Saint Paul Municipal Stadium. During the course of the work under this contract and because of the excessive rains, the slopes have been washed down several times and have had to be rebuilt. Therefore, at the request of Commissioner Mortinson, negotiations have been conducted with the contractor for installing and furnishing metal flumes at five locations around the slope to eliminate any future trouble in this respect, and the Con- tractor has quoted the following amounts for installation of the metal flumes, which amounts are reasonable for the labor and material involved: Furnish and install 30" metal flume 1901 @ $11.00 $2,090.00 Furnish and install 30" metal aprons 8 @ $70.00 560.00 Furnish and install 24" metal flume 40t @ $ 9.00 360.00 Furnish and install 24" metal aprons 2 @ $45.00 90.00 Total $3, 100.00 It is therefore requested that a resolution be submitted to the Council authorizing an extra in the amount of $3, 100.00 to contract number G-143 to cover the above listed work. ery tru yours, ■ 44 1-11► ,1 Al 'r. c r AHS :al City Architect cc's Paul Blue Dick Schnarr Comsr.
