to cover additional work to support the fixtures, this work
having been requested by the Commissioner of Libraries,
Auditorium and Museums, and agreement made with the Con-

Dear Sir:
Contract Number G-107 was awarded to the Tieso Electric
Company, Incorporated, for New Electric Lighting Installations
at the Main Library, 90 West Fourth Street, St. Paul, Minnesota.
During the course of the work under this contract, it was
found that the exposed beams in the rooms under the contract
rather than being constructed of solid concrete as was anti-
cipated were a false face and that the actual steel beams which
would support the new fixtures were 20 inches beyond the face
of the exposed beams. At Commissioner Mortinsonts request,
negotiations were conducted with the contractor who quotes an
additional amount of $381.59 for running each of the fixture
supports this additional 20 inches and drilling and tapping the
steel beams.
This is a reasonable amount for the labor and material in-
volved, and it is therefore requested that a resolution be sub-
mitted to the Council which will authorize an extra in the amount
of $381.59 to contract number G-107 to cover the above described
additional work.
