WHEREAS, the t •int City and County Detention and Workhouse
Facility Commission has determined to build a juvenile detention
facility on property now owned by the County of Ramsey and
described as follows:
Lots three (3) and four (4) in Sarah's Out Lots to
Saint Paul, according to the plat thereof on file
and of record in the office of the Register of
Deeds in and for said Ramsey Courlj;
and
WHEREAS, Chapter 353, Laws of Minnesota for 1955, provides,
in Section 2 thereof, as follows:
"Sec. 2. Acquisition of land, cost. The cost and
expense of acquiring land, for erecting, equipping and
furnishing such facilities shall be borne equally by
such county and such city. However, if it is deter-
mined that any land, or facility, or portion thereof,
or combination of land and facility or portion thereof,
presently existing and owned by either county or city,
is to be used jointly for the purposes of this act
then such county or city shall be given a credit on
its individual share of the cost and expense of the
completed facilities specified in Section 1 hereof.
Said credit to be determined to the extent of the
present fair valuation thereof."
now therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the City of Saint Paul accept a deed from the
County of Ramsey, which deed conveys the following:
An undivided one-half (1/2) interest in and to Lots
3 and 4 in Sarah's Out Lots to Saint Paul, according
to the plat thereof on file and of record in the
office of the Register of Deeds in and for said
Ramsey County, subject to streets and highways,
together with an easement for ingress and egress over

Gentlemen and Mrs . De Courcy :
On June 8 , 1956 the Board of County Com -
missioners agreed to transfer to the City of St .
Paul pursuant to Section 2 , Chapter 353 , Laws of
Minnesota , 1955, an undivided one - half interest in
Lots 3 and 4 of Sarah' s Outlots . The purpose of
this transfer being to provide joint city and county
ownership of the site for the new Juvenile Deten-
tion Facility. The location of the property is at
Dale and Larpenteur Streets , adjacent to the north
property line of the Temple of Aaron Cemetery and
consists of 9 . 34 acres .
The Detention and Workhouse Facility Com -
mission requests the concurrence of your Honorable
Body in this transfer of land , as well as the approval
that the necessary documents to consummate this con-
veyance be prepared .
