WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums has reported
in accordance with Section 51 of the City Charter, the existence of
an emergency during the period from September 1, 1956 to September 30, 1956,
inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees
in the Department of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums, Bureau of Public
Libraries, for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in
doing the following work:
(1) To accommodate groups using branch libraries for evening
meetings, and (2) evening Bookmobile schedule and (3) To display flag
on Labor Day.
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Use of branch libraries for evening meetings and use of Bookmobile
during evenings, and display of flag on Labor Day.
TARE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized
to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the
provision of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
