OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK C A RESOLUTION—GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY ) / ^ COMMISSIONE /i� - 4�� _ DATF WHEREAS, The Commissions •f Public Works has reported,po ted, in accordance with Section 53 of the ity Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from September 16 to 30, 1956, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing debris from city streets Tending fires at Asphalt Plant continuously Emergency garbage pickup Taking complaints at city yards _File No. i --� Drawing grading & paving specifications ut couc e r irn.' Inspecting local improvement porjects 1 Approved s: Overseeing inmates at workhouse farm And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency calls, keeping city streets free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, picking up garbage, taking complaints, com- pleting grading and paving plans, need for grade profiles, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition, anspecting local improvement jobs, and overseeing inmates at workhouse farms. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council 's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 64+46.
