RESOLVED, jThat upon recommendation of the Commis-
sioner of Public Works application be made to the Commis-
sioner of Taxation of the State of Minnesota for a convey-
ance, under Chapter 511, Laws of 1941, of the tax-forfeited
land described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a
part hereof, said lands to be used for refuse disposal and
for the eventual use for wharves, levees, and river devel-
opment.

To the Honorable Mayor and Council
of the City of St. Paul
Gentlemen and Madam:
In connection with the referral to this office
of the acquisition of the forfeited lands in the Pig's
Eye Lake area, we have prepared the attached resolution
which includes in Exhibit A the descriptions of the va-
rious parcels to be acquired and a map showing the loca-
tions of the parcels involved. To facilitate identifica-
tion the descriptions have been numbered both in Exhibit
A and on the map.
The eventual use of this area for wharves, levees,
and river development purposes is, to a large extent, depen-
dent upon its control by the city insofar as is possible.
The acquisition of the tax-forfeited lands which total ap-
proximately 925 acres will be a forward step in this direc-
tion.
