attached application of Midtown Motors for permit to install and
operate a used car sales lot on Lot 25 and the west 2 of Lot 26,
Sanborn's Midway Addition, situated on the north side of University
Ave. between Dunlap and Griggs, in accordance with applicant's plans
dated September 20, 1956.

Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of Midtown Motors for
a permit to install and operate a used car sales lot on the north
side of University between Dunlap and Griggs. This property is
described as lot 25 and the west half of lot 26 - block 7 - Sanborn's
. Midway Park Addition. The zoning is "light industry."
The property has a frontage of 60' on University and extends northerly
to a depth of 120' . The site was formerly occupied by a multifamily
residence structure which has been removed from the premises.
The applicant's plans approved September 20, 1956 are in accordance
with existing standards. Field investigation discloses no objection
to this operation from the standpoint of adjacent land use or traffic.
There is a used car lot to the west and there are apartments to the
east: the Prom ballrom is across University Avenue to the south.
Access to this property will be from a single 20' driveway from University
Avenue which, at this point, is limited to right turns into the facility
and right turns out. There will be no access from the alley at the rear
of the property.
In consideration of these factors, the Zoning Board recommends that
this permit be granted in accordance with the applicant's plans
dated September 20, 1956.
