WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul and [he Depar[ment of Pubiic Works aze proud of our employees, facilities and services and wish to invite
the public to an open house on Tuesday, Mayl8th, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and;
WHEREAS, our b esu look forwazd to ttds even[ [o obtain up-to-date information from [he Depar[me�t of Public Works, other Departments
of the CiTy of Sunt Paul, State and Counry Agencies and other community goups thaz participate in having a display booth, all of wMch will
provide a valuable public pu}pose to the ciuzens of Saint Paul, and:
WHEREAS, the Department wi]] distribute maps and informational materials, provide a food concession and awazd door prizes to our gues[s,
and;
WHEREAS, the Department wtll provide snacks and ves[s with the Department iogo for employees who have volunteered [o participate in the
open house, and;
WHEREA5, the Department would ]ike to ask local businesses to contnbute goods or services that can be used as prizes m random drawings
for the publtc who attend this event; and
Now, therefore, be it resolved, tha[ the proper City officials aze hereby authorized to pay expenses mcu�red ro host this event.

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Saint Paul City CouncIl hereby authorizes the proper City officials to act on behalf of the
City to solicit and reques[ donations from azea merchauts, foi [he open house to be held on Tuesday, May I8, 2010; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that a list of such donations, with ihe name of the donor and eshmated value of the donation, shall be kept and
included m a future resolution accepting the donation in compliance with all the requirements of Chapter 41 of the Administrative Code.

Approval of the resolution for the Depaztrnent of Public Works 2010 Open House. To allow for the spending of ciry funds and to
solicit for and accept donations on behalf of the City, whlch will help finance the 2010 Public Works Open House scheduled for May
18th, 2010.

The City of Saint Paul and the Department of Public Works are proud of its employees, facilities and services. They would like to
invite the public to an open house on Tuesday, May 18th, 2010. The Department will distribute maps and informariona] materials,
provide a food concession and awazd door prizes to our guests. Employees who have volunteered to participate in the open house will
be provided snacks and vests with the Departmental logo.
Advantages If Approved:
Expenses incurred to host this event will be authorized to be paid. Our guests look forwazd to ttus event to obtain up-to-date
information from the Department of Public Works, other Departments of the City of Saint Paul, State and County Agencies and other
community groups that would like to participate in having a display booth.
