CITY OF SAIN� PAUL, MINNESOTA
Presented by
1 WHEREAS, the chief of the Saint Paul Police Department (Chief John Harrington) recognizes and
2 acknowledges police employees for their outstanding achievements and exemplary dedication to public
3 service; and

5 WHEREAS, recognition ceremonies are held throughout the year at various places and time; and
6
7 WHEREAS, trainings on domestic violence through PraYis Intemational Inc. £or police employees for the
8 Blueprint Implementation project will also be held throughout the year; and
10 WHEREAS, the public purpose of the ceremonies is that the city council and mayor deem it important to
11 recognize the commitment and dedication to public service of the city's police employees through various
12 recognition ceremonies through the year including: Medal of Valor, Employee of the Year, Graduation of
13 Police Recruits, and Promotion of Employees; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the public purpose of the trainings on domestic violence are for law enforcement officers to
16 more effectively identify and respond to violent crimes against women.

18 BE IT ORDERED, that pursuant to the 2010 city budget, the proper city official(s) are hereby authorized
19 to remit an amount not to exceed $10,000 to cover expenses incuned from the above various ceremonies.
