That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13, ( 1935, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out the specifications for Library Assistant, General Library Assistant, and Junior Librarian, and substituting in lieu thereof, respectively, the following: "Title of class: f LIBRARY ASSISTANT Duties and responsibilities: Under supervision, to perform responsible library'work not requiring professional library training; and to perform related work as assigned. Examples of work performed: i , To assist readers in locating books and information, and to recommend reading material. ' To acquaint patrons with the various facilities of the library. To be in charge of a library service agency such as a branch library or one of the rooms in the main library in the absence of the person responsible for the agency, and to supervise and to perform the miscellaneous tasks incidental to the oper- ation of the agency during such periods. 1 To do reference work, prepare book lists, and to give talks or C-D prepare written material in such fields in which the employee may have specialized knowledge. Minimum qualifications: Two years of college.
