WHEREAS, Alfred H. Schroeder, City Architect, has
requested the City Council to hold a public hearing to
consider any complaints about the expense incurred by the
City of Saint Paul in removing a dangerous structure at
236k Benson Avenue, more particularly described as:
Lot twelve (12) , Block seven (7) , Palisade Addition to
St. Paul; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record owner
of the property is Alex Young, 470 Iglehart Avenue, Saint
Paul 3, Minnesota, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint
Paul hold a public hearing in the Council Chamber at 10
o'clock A. M. on the 12th day of December, 1956, to consider
any complaints about the expense incurred by the City of
Saint Paul and to confirm the amount thereof; be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify by
mail the record owner of the property in question at the
last known address.

Gentlemen:
A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk
on this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the
property known as 2364 Benson Avenue, St. Paul 16, Minne-
sota, described as 1'ot 12, Block 7, Palisade Addition to
St. Paul.
This property is owned by Alex Young, formerly of 2364 Ben-
son Avenue but now at 470 Iglehart Avenue, St. Paul 3.
In this matter, the following resolutions were adopted by
the City Council:
C.F. 178260, adopted June 8, 1956 (published June 16, 1956)
set a public hearing at 10 A. M. June 28, 1956.
C. F. 178591, adopted June 29, 1956 (published July 7, 1956)
ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense
of the owner, occupant, or other person in charge thereof.
C. F. 178948, adopted July 26, 1956 (published July 28, 1956)
directed the Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds And Public
Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the
dwelling, garage, shed, and outhouse thereon, and do any and
all things therein necessary for the protection of life,
limb, and adjoining property.
C. F. 179336, adopted August 23, 1956 (published August 25,
1956, approved the specifications prepared by this office for
the wrecking of these buildings and authorized the purchas-
ing agent to advertise for bids.
C. F. 179685 adopted September 19, 1956 (published Septem-
ber 22, 1956) approved the award of the contract for wreck-
ing to Guy Patsy & Sons, Inc. , for the sum of $197.00 in ac-
cordance with the specifications and Formal Bid No. 5932. pLi

C. F. 179664, adopted September 18, 1956 and published
September 22, 1956, provided that the wrecking expenses
of $197.09 and expense of the Department of Parks, Play-
grounds And Public Buildings in connection with the
I- condemnation in the amount of ; making a total of
a paid out of Miscellaneous Fund 31 G 23 and
'n the event said sum proves collectible from the owner,
same is to be credited to the General Fund Item 31 G 23.
These buildings have now been satisfactorily wrecked and
a Registered Bill was mailed to the owner on October 17,
1956.
We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with
ten days: notice to consider any complaints about the
expenses incurred and to confirm the amount.
The Council resolution confirming the expenses should
end with a directive to the City Clerk to file a statement
of expense for the purpose of securing a lien on the prop-
erty.
