WHEREAS, The City Purchasing Agent has reported in a000rdanoe

4 with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existanoe of an
emergency during November 17, 1956, which rendered necessary
the employment of certain employees of the City Purchasing
Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours
per week in doing the following work:
Necessary to purchase books & subscriptions, type
purchase orders, and invoice purchase orders
and WHEREAS this emergency arose by reason of the follring
facts and circumstances:
Excess of book & subscription requisitions, and
invoicing,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT The proper pity officers are
hereby authorized to pay the employees shown on the attached
list, who performed such work in a000rdax a with the provisions
of the Counoills salary ordinance No. 6446.
