WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreatio� has contractual relat�onships with Lancer Hospital�ty (Lancer) and the Como
Fr�ends rela[ed to the operation of the Como Campus; and
WHEREAS, City staff work closely wtth the staff of both orgamzations on a daily basis in order to accomplish the seamless
prov�s�on of services at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory; and
WHEREAS, on a limited number of occurrences durmg 2010, City staff will be mvited to participate m events, such as the
annual staff Qathermg m January and Como Town °friends and family" night in the summer, that are facihtated by Lancer and/oc
the Como Fnends in which food, bevera�e and enterta�nment is provided as an mtegral part of the event, the cosC of which is
borne by L.ancer and Como Fnends; and
W HEREAS, the public purpose of these events ue to; build upon exishng woiking relationships and develop new ielationships
among mdividua] staff groups, demonstrate appcec�ahon fox the ongomg cooperation and recognize Campus-wide ach�evements
and establish new goals; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE TT RESOLVED, that Samt Paul Parks and Recceat�on staff are authorized to attend/participate in
relaf�onship buildmg, appreciation and recognihon events hosted by Lancer Hospitality and the Como Friends, and accept their
donabon of refreshments and services.

I The City staff at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory work closely with the staffs of on-s�te partner agencies; Lancer Hospitaliry and
'I Como Friends to provide services and programs to over 1.9 million visitors annually. At key times of the year, there is a need to bring
� the combined staff groups together to communicate related common issues and recognize the successes within the staff groups. The
� partner agenoies offer to provide refreshments aud services as part of the Campus-wide events.

Attached is a resolution from Parks requesting authorization for Parks staff to participate
in 2010 events sponsored by Como Zoo and Consen�atory's partner agencies (Lancer
Hospitality and the Como Friends). Participating Parks staff will accept donations of
refreshments and services from Lancer Hospitality and Como Friends during these
events. OK to sign.
