COMMISSIONS
WHEAREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from January 16th to January 31st 1957 inc., which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water
Department for mor than eight hours per day or forty hours per
week in doing the oolowing work:
(1) Supervising repairs to broken water mains.
(2 Performing duties of Chief Meter Reader.
AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
(1) In order to give consumers water and fire protection as
quickly as possible.
(2) Illness of reg$lar Chipt Meter Reader
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City officers are hereby
authorized to pay tae employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No.6446.
