In the Matter of changing tie grade of the alley in Block 4, Rugg's Addition, from
Milton St. to a point 320 ft. west of Milton St. and from Chatsworth St. to a point
116.77 ft. east to conform td the grade on the profile on file in the Department of
Public Works, and grading and surfacing with bituminous material the alley in Block 4,
Rugg's Addition, from Milton St. to Chatsworth St. to the proposed change of grade;
also constructing a sewer in an easement to be obtained on the westerly 4 ft. of the
easterly 6 ft. of Lot 23, Block 4, Rugg's Addition, from Otto Ave. to the alley in the
rear of said lot,
under Preliminary Order 180790 approved December 18, 1956
The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded wth.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is change the grade of
the alley in Block 4, Rugg's Addition, from Milton St. to a point 320 ft. west of
Milton St. and from Chatsworth St. to a point 116.77 ft. east to conform to the grade
on the profile on file in the Department of Public Works, and grade and surface with
bituminous material the alley in Block 4, Rugg's Addition, from Milton St. to Chatsworth
St. to the proposed change of grade; also construct a sewer in an easement to be
obtained on the westerly 4 ftr of the easterly 6 ft. of Lot 23, Block 4, Rugg's Addition,
from Otto Ave. to the alley in the rear of said lot,
with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $ 5,422.75
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 26th day of
February , 19 57 , at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building in the ity of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in t e manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improve1� total cost thereof as estimated.
