OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CO NCIL R.�'LUTION-GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY /d� // COMMISSIONER DATE WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Parks, Playgrounds and Public Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency dur- ing the period! from January 1 to 15, 1957, which render- ed necessary the employment of certain employees of the • Department of Parks, Playgrounds and Public Buildings for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Supervision, care, maintenance and protec- tion of public parks and playgrounds and of their facilities. And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Seasonal requirements for protection of public property and pursuit of departmental activities, such as: Heating the Zoo and Greenhouse at Como; snoplowing and sanding boulevards, park- ways and walks; preparing and maintaining playground skating and hockey rinks. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 614h6.
