WHEREAS, The Board of Education has requested that an
application be filed for a change of use of a portion of the pre-
mises described as the west f of the Southeast oof Section 2,
Township 28 North, Range 22 West, which was acquired under State
Deed No. 97034, dated January 30, 1953, for agricultural uses in
connection with the workhouse farm;
NOW, THEREFO E, BE IT RESOLVED That application be made
to the Commissioner of Taxation for a change of use from the above
statedpurpose to the u e as a future school site of the following
described portion thereof:
the west 510 feet of the north 800 feet of the
west f of the Southeast ' of Section 2, Town-
ship 28 North, Range 22 West.

Dear Commissioner Marzitelli:
Pursuant to our recent conversation, the City Planning Board
has reviewed the anticipated elementary school site needs for
the East Side including the Battle Creek and Highwood Area.
At the October 11th meting, the Board unanimously passed a
motion recommending that the west 540 feet of the north 800
feet of the parcel of land containing 80 acres, described as
the west 2 of the southeast 4 of Section 2, Township 28,
Range 22 be retained by the City for the purpose of an elemen-
tary school site.
Dr. Forrest L. Conner, of the Department of Education has re-
viewed our preliminary school study for the East Side and con-
curs with the recommendation of the Planning Board that the City
retain approximately ten acres, as above described, of the 80
acres of land lying south of Upper Afton Road and east of Hazel
Street for the purpose of an elementary school site.

Dear Sir:
I am attaching hereto copy of letter received from
Mr. C. D. Loeks, Planning Director, setting forth the require-
ments of the Departments of Education in the East Side area in
the vicinity of the Upper Afton Road and the present Workhouse
Farm.
Pursuant to this communication, will you kindly ar-
range for the transfer of the use of the following tax forfeited
property from that of Workhouse Farm to school purposes:
The West 540 feet of the North 800 feet of
the West 1/2 of the Southeast l/4 of Section 2,
Township 28, Range 22.
The remaining property in this 80 acre tract may be
released for sale as it is no longer required for City Workhouse
purposes.
