TEAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period froiz January 1st to January 15th 1957 inc., which
rendered necessary the mmrployment of certain employees of the Water
Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per
week in doing the following work:
1 Supervising the epairing of broken water mains
2 Supervising the epairing of foundation to Hazel Park tang.
3 Performing dutie of Chief Meter Reader.
AND WAS, this emergenc arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
(1) In order to give consumers water and fire protection as
quickly as possible.
(2) In order to speed repairs
(3) Illness of regular Chief Meter Reader.
2SEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No46446.
