WHEREAS, The Commissioner o Public Works as ported, in accordance with
Section 53 of the CitylCharter, the existence of an emergency during
the period from January 3 to 9, 1957, which rendered necessary the
employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for
more than eight hours 'ler day or forty hour per week in doing the
following work:
Removing snow andiice from city streets
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Necessity of keeping city streets free from snow and ice
after recent snowfall.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That that proper city officers are hereby authorized
to pay the mployees who performed such work in accordance with the
provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
