WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums has reported in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from December 2nd through December 31st, 1956 which rendered
necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Libraries,
Auditorium and Museums, Bureau of Auditorium,, for more than eight )ours per day
or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Operate switchboard, ventilating system and electric work, also to
supervise during the various activities held in the building.
and WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and airman-
stances:
No other trained help availiable to work during hockey games, Christmas
parties, meetings and other events held in the building.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city Officers are hereby authorised to
pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of
