WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium and Museums has reported in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from March 31st through May 4, 1957 which rendered necessary.
the employment of certain employees of the Department of Libraries, Auditorium
and Museums, Bureau of Auditorium, for more than eight hours per day or forty
hours per week in doing the following work:
Operate switchboard, ventilating system and electric work, also to
supervise during the various activities held in the building.
and WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and c cum-
stances;
No other trained help available to work during Ice Show, Home Show
Lumber Dealers Convention, Women's Institute, Opera and other events
held in the building, this time includes Saturdays, Sundays and •
Holidays.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper City Officers are hereby auth. •ized
to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the pro sions
of the Council's Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
