OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OUNCIL RESOLUTION—GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONE DATF WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from April 16th to April 30th 1957 inc., which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: 1 Supervising repairs to water mains. 2 Performing duties of Chief Meter Reader 3 Special meter readings. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: (1) In order to give water and fire protection to consumers as soon as possibe. 2 Illness of regular Chief Meter Reader (3) Special readings could be made only on Saturdays. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with tie provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance lo.6446.
