WHEREAS, the of Commissioner e o Public Utilities has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergen.
during the period from April 16, 1957 to April 30, 1957 inclusiv-
which rendered necessary the employment of a certain employee of
the Department of Public Utilities fOr more than eight hours per
day or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Supervising the activities of the City Market,
and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circu
stances:
Saturday work made necessary because of increased
activity at the City Market,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the
employees who performed such work in accordance with the pro-
visions of the CounciL's Salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
