A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the •ouncil
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully con-idered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be bade by the said City is construct a sewer in Ivy Avenue from C = -nce
Street to ft. west of Birmingham Street,
and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instruct d and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Cou cil for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed o pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

The Commissioner of Public Works, having had under consideration the prelimin-
ary order of the Council, known as Council File No. 181056 approved
January 11, 19 57 , relative to construction of a sewer in
Ivy Avenue from Clarence Street to 165 ft. west of Birmi_nah Street
and having investigated the matters and things referred to therein, hereby reports:
1. Said improvement is necessary and (or) desirable.
2. The estimated cost thereof is $ 4.494•23, and the total cost thereof
