WHEREAS, by City of Saint Paul Ordinance No. 10369, passed by tie Council
and approved by the Mayor September 21, 1954, and ratified and approved b a majority
of the electors of said City at the election held November 2, 1954, the C ty of Saint
Paul was authorized to issue and sell negotiable bonds of said City in th sum of
Five Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($5,500,000.00) par value for the purpose
of extending, enlarging, improving and bettering the Water Works System o ,ed and
operated by said City; and
WHEREAS, heretofore, the aggregate of Three Million, Five Hundr-d Thousand
Dollars ($3,500,000.00) par value of such authorized bonds were duly isso .. and sold
by the City of Saint Paul for the purpose of its acquisition of the funds necessary
for its accomplishment of the first and second portions of the aforesaid 4-tending,
enlarging, improving and bettering of its said Water Works System, under id as
authorized by said Ordinance No. 10369 and the Resolutions of the Council of the
City of Saint Paul pursuant thereto, C. F. No. 172163, approved March 3, 955,
C. F. No. 172824, approved April 22, 1955, ' C. F. No. 17694, approved s2 ,
19561 and C. F. No. 176662, approved February 2, 1956; and
WHEREAS, it has been made to appear by the report and resolutiol of the
Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul and it is found t :t at this
time it is necessary that an additional One Million Dollars (41,000,000.0!6) par
value of such authorized bonds be issued and sold, as authorized by said rrdinance
No. 10369 and by the Resolution of the Council of said City, C. F. No. 18 937,
approved March 15, 1957, for the purpose of the acquisition of funds nece:sary for
the accomplishment of the third portion of the aforesaid extending, enlar ng,
improving and bettering of said Water Works System owned and operated by - d City;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that, at this time, the City of Saint Paul issue and :ell, in
the manner provided by law, such additional bonds authorized by said Ordi .: •ce
No. 10369 in the amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) par value; that
said bonds shall be in denominations of $1,000.00 each; that said bonds s _: 1 bear
a rate of interest not to exceed six per cent per annum payable semi—annu lly on
October 1 and April 1, according to the coupons to be attached to said bonds;
that said bonds shall bear date the first day of the month in which the : ie are
sold; that said bonds shall be in the form of serial bonds, a portion of Fe

installment of said bonds shall come due in not more than one (1) year frpm the
date of the sane and the last installment of said bonds shall come due in not more
than thirty (30) years from such date; that no annual installment of prin ipal

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that the City of Saint Paul, i the County
of Ramsey and State of Minnesota, acknowledges itself to owe and for val a received
hereby promises to pay to Bearer the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000. 0) on the
first day of April, , together with interest thereon from the date hereof
until paid, at the rate of per cent per annum, payable semiann ly on
the first days of October and April in each year, as evidenced by and up the
presentation and surrender of the annexed interest coupons as they sever ly become
due. Both principal and interest of this bond are payable in lawful mo of the
United States of America at the office of the Commissioner of Finance, i the City
of Saint Paul, or at the Fiscal Agency of the City of Saint Paul, in the City of
New York, State of New York, at the option of the holder; and for the pr mpt payment
of this bond, both principal and interest, at maturity, the faith and cr dit of the
City of Saint Paul are hereby irrevocably pledged.
This bond is one of a series amounting in the aggregate to the sum of
One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) issued by the City of Saint Paul forjthe purpose
of extending, enlarging, improving, and bettering the waterworks system weed and
operated by the City of Saint Paul. This bond is issued pursuant to Or

of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul and such other sections thereof as may be
applicable thereto, and Chapter 475, Minnesota Statutes 1953, as amended

required by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Minnesota and the barter of

RESOLVED FURTHER, that each said bond shall be sealed by the fa simile
of the Official Seal of the City of Saint Paul lithographed thereon and s gned
by the lithographed facsimile signature of the Mayor, attested by the lithographed
facsimile signature of the City Clerk and countersigned manually by the City
Comptroller in accordance with Chapter 422 Minnesota Laws, 1951, and Section 475.55
Minnesota Statutes Annotated, and the interest coupons thereto attached shall be
executed by the lithographed facsimile signatures of said officers.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that sealed proposals be received at the offi a of the
City Comptroller in the Court House and City Hall in the City of Saint Pa ,
Minnesota, up to ten o'clock a. m. (C.S.T.) on April 10, 1957, for the s e of all
