PAUL ;°E NCIL Na 18 98 •FFICE OF THE CITY CLERK / — C• CIL RESOLUT ON—GENERAL FORM PRESENTED • COMMISSI'� ■�-■ _J� DATF WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from March 1st to March 15th 1957 inc., which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Working extra shifts at Filtration Plant and various Pumping Stations. (2) Working extra shifts at Mississippi River Station. 3) Finishing installation of, and repairing water mains and service connections. 4) Taking emergency calls at Storeyard. 6 9 Repairing air valve on vent ill on Mississippi River Conduit. Driving country crew to and from work. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: 2 NOn account of illness of employees on regular shifts. On account of daily shut-down by Power Company. (3) In order to give consumers fire protection and water am quickly as possible. 4 Nights and Sundays. 5 Necessary to finish repairs to vent while in that location. 6) On account of scattered work locations. TIEREFOREj BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
