THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13, 1935, as amended., be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out the title and specifications for Boiler Room Helper; and, by inserting in its proper alphabetical order the following title and specificationsifor: Power Plant Helper la (..,,.., Original to City Clerk e. , • . , ;r O RDINANCE 1813. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out the specifications for the title "Oiler", and substituting in lieu thereof the following statement: "(This title is hereby abolished except as to present incumbents. ) ". Section 3. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out of the Minimum Qualifications for Stationary Fireman the words "Boiler Room Helper", and substituting in lieu thereof the words 'Power Plant Helper". Section 4. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out the Minimum Qualifications for Senior Pumping Station Engineer, and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "Eighth-grade education and three years' experience as a stationary engineer, two years of which shall have been in the operation, maintenance and repair of pumping stations or steam generating equipment; or four years' experience as a Stationary Fireman in the Water Department's filtration plant. Must furnish a first-class engineer's license. " Section 5. This r,ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its passage, approval, and publication. Examples of work performed: To operate forced feed and gravity oil feed equipment. To clean equipment. To unload coal from cars. To operate coal handling conveyors. To remove ashes. To clean and wash boilers. To wash down wall and floors. To assist firemen in the operation of boiler feed pumps, water con- ditioning equipment, etc. To assist engineers in the operation of pumps, valves, compressors, etc. To assist with the maintenance of equipment. To assist in starting boilers and pumps. Minimum qualifications: Eighth-grade education.
