An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 7607, entitled:
"An ordinance fixing the duties and responsi-
bilities and the minimum qualifications for the various
classes of positions in the Classified Service of the City, "
approved February 13, 1935, as amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13, 1935,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out the
titles "Junior Personnel Technician", 'Assistant Personnel Technician", and
"Senior Personnel Technician"; and, substituting in lieu thereof, respectively,
the following titles;
Junior Assistant in Personnel Administration
Assistant in Personnel Administration
Senior Assistant in Personnel Administration.
Section 2. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same
is hereby further amended by inserting in their proper alphabetical order
the following titles and specifications:for:
Junior Planning 'Technician
Assistant Planning Technician
Senior Planning Technician

JUNIOR PLANNING TECHNICIAN
Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to perform elementary drafting, tracing, lettering,
graphic and incidental sub-professional work in connection with city
planning; and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To do general drafting and detail work.
To assist in collecting and recording planning and zoning data
To assist in the preparation of graphic presentations used in planning
and arming studies and reports.
To assist in map corrections.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation and one year's practical experience in drafting
or graphic work; or high school graduation and one year's vocational
training in drafting.

ASSISTANT PLANNING TECHNICIAN
Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to perform sub-professional work in city planning,
drafting and graphics; and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To assist in collecting and recording data pertaining to basic planning
and zoning studies.
To assist in the preparation and correction of base maps used for
planning and zoning studies.
To assist in the preparation of graphic presentations used in planning
and zoning studies and reports including charts, graphs, exhibit
designs and colored renderings.
To assist in map corrections and in keeping base maps up to date.
To maintain records and files incident to the above tasks.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation and four years' experience in drafting or
graphic work.

SENIOR PLANNING TECHNICIAN
Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to perform administrative, drafting and research
work in connection with city planning; to supervise subordinates in
carrying out their duties; and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To assist in zoning administration including the preparation of reports
and petitions relative to the rezoning of property, appeals and
applications for Special Use Permits.
To assemble and record statistics pertaining to basic planning studies
including information on population, land use and housing.
To assist in the preparation of graphic presentations used in planning
and zoning studies and reports including charts, graphs, exhibit
designs and colored renderings.
To prepare and correct base maps used for planning and zoning studies.
To maintain files relative to city planning information.
To order and inventory necessary supplies incident to the operation of
the Bureau of City Planning's drafting room.
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduation and five years' experience in drafting and
graphic work.
