RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, that, subject to
the provisions hereof, hereinafter set forth, its proper City officers, in the
name and behalf of the City of Saint Paul, hereby are authorized to execute and
deliver notice of its intention to take the real estate hereinafter described
jointly with the County of Ramsey, according to the provisions, terms, and
conditions of that certain Option Contract dated March 8, 1957, affecting
said real estate whereunder and whereby William D. Clapp and Adelaide H. Clapp,
among other things, granted an option unto said City and County to purchase
said real estate and whereunder and whereby said William D. Clapp and said
Adelaide H. Clapp became and are bound to convey by warranty deed said
real estate unto said City and County for the purchase price payable by said
City and County in the sum of $81,000.00, said real estate being required
by said City and County for their presently proposed Joint City and County
Detention Facilities and Joint City and County Work Farm as the site selected
and approved therefor, said real estate being situate in the County of Ramsey,
State of Minnesota, and particularly described as follows:
The North of the Northeast of Section 12, Township 28,
Range 22, also commencing at the Northwest corner of the
Southeast * of the Northeast 4 of said Section 12, thence
South to the North line of the Afton Road (so-called),
thence in a Northeasterly direction along the North line
of said road one hundred thirty-four feet, thence North
to the North line of said quarter quarter section, thence
West on the quarter quarter section line one hundred twenty
feet to beginning, containing one-half of an acre, more or
less, being a part of the Southeast 4 of the Northeast
of said Section 12, Town and Range aforesaid; also com-
mencing at the Northeast corner of the Southwest ' of the
Northeast * of said Section 12 thence West on said
quarter quarter section line two hundred one feet, thence
due South one hundred fifty-one and 5/10 feet, thence in
a Southeasterly direction to a polist,an the ye
quarter quarter section_line one hundred seventy-three and
8/10 feet South of the place of beginning, thence North to
the place of beginning, all in Section 12, Township 28,
Range 22, in Ramsey County, Minnesota, according to the
United States Government Survey thereof, containing 80.5

Line Company dated May 8, 1937, and recorded in the
Office of the Register of Deeds, Ramsey County, Minnesota,
recorded in Book 988 of Deeds, Page 590.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that said authorization for notice in behalf
of said City shall be dependent for its operative effect upon comparable
anthOrl.zation by proper resolution of the Board. of County Commissioners
of said County for notice in its behalf by its proper officers, and that
no such authorization hereunder shall be exercised except in concurrence
with such authorized action in behalf of said County.
4 , RESOLVED FURTHER, that said authorization for notice in behalf
: said City and all other provisions hereof are made subject to and by
1047._tueof authority under Chapter 353, Session Laws of Minnesota for 1955.
